The majority of vocal lessons are carried out with Amelia McCloskey, vocal coach and founder of AM Studios and AM Artist Management. She has worked with comedian John Bishop providing vocal direction on his Rollar Coaster tour and Luke Friend who achieved 3rd placement in X Factor.
Beginner level vocalists are also welcomed as she specializes in nervous singers who lack confidence, helping them to overcome singing in front of others.
You may need some vocal direction in the studio to help you to perform at your best for the project you're working. Perhaps you're looking for help with a particular part of the song, hitting those high notes, belting, developing mixed voice, or inspiration for harmonies and adlibs.
If you're in a band you may need some guidance in rehearsals for upcoming gigs and need some constructive professional feedback. She can identify your strengths as a vocalist as well as recommend areas that you can work on. This might include your technique; which is a very important element. She can join you in your rehearsals to see you in action.
The first lesson is an informal assessment to listen to the student's voice and give feedback as to where your strengths lie and areas to work on. We will then tailor an individual learning method to suit your voice. All backing tracks and vocal exercises are provided for the student to continue their training at home.
Lessons are provided in a fully equipped State-of-the-Art Luxury barn conversion using a P.A system, iPads, Shure SM58 mics, and Top Yamaha Stage Piano.
Singing lessons will include: singing technique, breath control, microphone technique, stage presence, confidence building, vocal projection, audition preparation, performance techniques, and repertoire choices.
New students booking an introductory lesson must book via the website in advance and the lesson is charged full amount if not cancelled within 24 hours minimum. Payment must be received at least 48 hours before the lesson or the time slot will be offered to someone else.
